The registration process will be run by our hosting institution, the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC).

After the enrollment is completed we will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have you on our list and to ask you a couple of questions. Then you will be able to let us know whether you may want to take part in one of the 2 shakuhachi making workshops (that have very limited number of places that will be granted on a “first come first served” basis) or any other thing you may want. And as always we will be very happy to answer your questions at barcelona2013@shakuhachi.es

Becoming a member not only helps ESS promote the shakuhachi but also saves you money!

If you book between the start of the registration and June 7^th included, you will receive a further 10% discount on fees (see below).

Please note that the registration fee grants you full access to all the Summer School activities including the lectures, concerts and roundtable discussions (NB: a small additional fee may be charged for the shakuhachi making courses to cover materials). The fee does not include food or accommodation.

Shakuhachi making workshop / Advanced shakuhachi making workshop

If you have your own kiri knife and piece of bamboo, please bring them with you. To make things easier for you, we are going to have bamboo of different sizes and prices to meet your budget and also kiri knives that cost €22.

Please note that the Advanced shakuhachi making workshop is for those who already have some experience of shakuhachi making and who can bring their own instrument with them to work on.

Please note also that if you have been accepted onto the Summer School and we are advised of your cancellation at least 14 days (2 weeks) before the start of the course, we will retain a 20 Euro administration fee and return the balance to you. We regret that for cancellations made within 14 days of the start of the course, fees cannot be refunded.
